The released deputy, Khalid Suliman Abu El Hasan assured that the events in the West Bank stand as a barrier for preventing the MPs to practice their work naturally. Abu El Hasan stated that the Palestinian reconciliation is the only solution to stop all the oppressive acts in the West Bank
As a deputy, tell us about your experience with the abduction inside the Israeli Jails before and after abduction.
The abduction was not different this time as we were abducted in the same way as before. In addition, the treatment and torture were in the same brutal way. But as MPs, it was not only we were prevented from our families but also we were prevented to meet our people who elected us in fair election. This caused a lot of pain and agony to all MPs as our abduction paralyzed the interests of our nation and people.
Did the occupation fulfill its goals by your abduction?
The occupation fulfilled its goals by paralyzing the Palestine Legislative Council and issuing political decisions by abducting and preventing us to practice our role as representatives of Palestinian people.
How did you contact with the outside world?
The most problematic issue was communication with the outside world as we were completely isolated. More the deputies of the north were in jails different to jails where the deputies of the south were. Furthermore, we were arrested in the worst jails which are “ Majedo and Alyoon”. We have no way to communicate with the outside world but the courts where we used to see our families and advocates.
How do you evaluate the negotiations with the occupation?
Negotiations with the occupation without results is a kind of absurdity that should not be continued. The Palestinian negotiator takes long time to restore our rights and it was in vain as the Israeli oppressive acts continue day by day. Israel continues in building settlements and calling for Jewish country ignoring all the efforts of the Palestinian negotiators.
Do you think that you can come back to the Palestine Legislative council and practice your role as MPs?
When some of the MPs including me were released, we did not expect to find these bad situations. I think coming back to PLC needs wise political decision and it is related to the Palestinian reconciliation.
