The International campaign for Releasing the abducted MPs had organized a workshop for discussing the mechanisms for stopping the decision of expulsion of the Jerusalemite MPs. Many MPs and advocates participated in the workshops

The workshop was held with the presence of the head of the legal committee of Palestine Legislative Council(PLC), Dr. Ahmad Abu Halabiya, the head of the political Committee of PLC, Khalil Al-Hayya, Dr.Yehia Moussa, MP.Salim Salama, the head of the International campaign, MP. Musheer El Marsri, MP. Huda Naeem and MP.Muhammed Sehab. Many human rights activists participated in the workshop like dr. Nafez El Madhoun and Raji El Surrani and Haytham Manna, spokesman for the Arab commission of Human Rights, and Fadi Qawasmi, the advocate of the MPs.

In the beginning of the workshop, El Qawasmi discussed the legal dimension of the expulsion of the MPs. He refuted the claims of Israeli that the participation of the MPs and the Minister of Jerusalem is a betrayal of Israel because Israel allowed holding elections and nomination in Jerusalem. He added that there is no International law which stated that the citizens of Jerusalem must be loyal to Israel

In the same context, El Qawasmi pointed out the minister of interior does not have the right to cancel the right of citizenship of the MPs and the minister in Jerusalem. He stated that the city of Jerusalem is classified as an occupied city according to the fourth Geneva convention which ban expulsing any citizen from his/her home.

For his part, Abu Halabya considered the expulsion and Judaizing Jerusalem great danger on the Palestinian issue pointing out that the committee of Jerusalem had published two reports and held press conference since the decision of expulsion was issued,2006.

More, Abu Halabya affirmed the necessity of activating the issue of expulsion in media following a systematic plan with full information about the MPs, legal study about the abduction , confiscating the IDs and the expulsion.

For his part, dr. El-Hayya assured that the decision is political referring to the importance of finding a mechanism for pressing on Israel to the stop the unjust decision and to try the Israeli criminals.

El Surrani had stated the importance of forming a committee of international supervisors, MPs and advocates for activating the issue in the international forums.

Dr. Manna called for organizing independent ,civil and national campaign for activating the issue of expulsion.

At the end of workshop, Naeem called for organizing international Campaign for activating the issue to prove that the issue is a political one. She added that the international campaign for releasing the abducted MPs had built many relations with international parliamentarians which could help in forming international opinion for stopping expulsion decision.
